There's a reason we found our home in Cornwall. There's a rawness about living here, an energy that lights you up, a magic in the empty beaches that makes you feel alive, an openness that makes you feel wild and free. These are the reasons we wanted to share it with you. That's why we created our surf and yoga yurt retreat in Cornwall. The long, golden sands, clear ocean, dolphins passing by, cliff top walks, meditation in the rolling hills, horse riding, perfect waves, Cornwall really has it all. Once it's cast you in its net, you will be drawn back forever.
Every morning, we would emerge from the warmth of the cosy yurts, with the fresh crisp air filling our lungs. The sun would just be rising, filtering it's golden rays through the pines that surround us, gently kissing our faces. A short walk to the glistening ocean, we'd lay our yoga mats in the sand and find our seat to meditate amongst peacefulness of nature, watching the breath as the world awakens and the waves lap upon the shore. We'd flow with ease into our yoga practice, energising for the day ahead, creating space in the body and positivity in our lives. There's no better way to start the day than beach yoga.
We'd follow our steps back to our yurt village and fuel up for the day. Our lovely chef would bring us fresh fruits, smoothies, home baked bread, muesli and eggs with a warm drink to soothe the soul. As the food filled our bellies, we would check the surf report and head back to the beach to jump into the water. Refreshing the mind, body and soul with the waves filling us with nothing but joy. Our surf coach Alan Stokes working with each guest, discussing tips and ways to improve, from the beginners to the intermediates.
Bellies hungry, lunch would either be a picnic on the beach or back in our village in our beautiful kitchen. The afternoon was spent however our hearts desired. Guests would enjoy the on site indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi treating the body to rest and restore. Others would continue their adventure hiking the coast paths, spotting the wildlife, dolphins and seals. Those still energised would book onto extra activities from coasteering to horse riding or even another surf.
The sun would start to set and we'd all meet again in our yurt village, ready for our yin yoga class to release the tension in the body and completely melt into our happiness. After, we'd see the sun disappear into the ocean, ignite the fire in our log burners to warm our yurts up and spend the last of the evening sipping a cold wine or beer in the warmth of our outdoor hot tub, discussing our days and laughing all the way to our freshly prepared dinner. Knowing that this place is full of pure magic, a sanctuary of bliss for our souls.
